A century of safety, performance and expertise with Nevastane

TotalEnergies celebrates 100 years of Nevastane

TotalEnergies is one of the leading oil companies internationally and in New Zealand. We are pleased to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the TotalEnergies Nevastane range of food grade lubricants.

100 years ago, Nevastane was registered as an incidental food contact to answer food industry needs in its upmost safety and performance concerns.

The first Nevastane products were manufactured in the USA in 1925 and after a century of expertise, now provide a full range of high-performance oils and greases to the international food manufacturing sector.

The available of high-quality products has enabled the Nevastane brand to be a strong player in the food industry, enhancing the recognition and performance of the TotalEnergies brand. Maintaining a high profile in the market is a result of maintaining the high-quality standards set by International Food Standard Organisations.

All Nevastane oils and greases are NSF 1 certified, suitable for use in food industry applications where potential intermittent contact with product is possible. NSF 1 is the most internationally recognised food grade lubricant certification and allows a maximum level of contamination in food of 10ppm.

TotalEnergies NZ market a full range of Nevastane oils and greases all registered for local use by MPI under the C15 Classification. These products and customers are strongly supported by a local technical team with years of experience in supporting the NZ food industry.

Nevastane Production

Our Nevastane range is produced in only 2 specifically dedicated plants in Linden USA and Baisieux in France. Both plants are NSF ISO 21469 certified, meeting the most stringent international guidelines and recommendations for the food industry. Certification to ISO 21469 independently verifies that your NSF H1 products are manufactured to stringent ingredient and hygiene specifications using Good Manufacturing Practices, dedicated equipment and strict handling procedures. This means annual audits (including manufacturing points, distribution areas, storage sites and processing) are required to maintain certification. TotalEnergies are part of a small group of manufacturers producing food grade lubricants under this certification.
