TOTALENERGIES
TRANSFORMING GLOBALLY

In affirming its ambition to be a major player in the energy transition and to achieve net carbon neutrality by 2050, together with society, TotalEnergies has committed to profoundly transforming its production and sales while continuing to meet the energy needs of a growing population. The Company is developing a wide range of energies in an integrated approach in order to decarbonize its supply and generate a competitive advantage that will create long-term value.

Energy is at the heart of one of the most daunting challenges of the 21st century: preserving our planet endangered by climate change. Our role as a broad-energy company is therefore to continue to operate in accordance with the Paris Agreement, with a view to achieving, together with society as a whole, carbon neutrality in all our global activities by 2050.

The work carried out since 2021 has made it possible to reinforce the 2050 vision of a Net Zero TotalEnergies, together with society, in line with the Net Zero vision supported by the International Energy Agency.
A stagnation, then a decline, in the demand for petroleum products is anticipated between now and 2030 thanks to technological progress and changing uses. This will be followed by a significant reduction in demand by 2050. These products will face increasingly stringent requirements to limit emissions linked to their extraction and use.
To achieve carbon neutrality, the global energy mix will have to change significantly. TotalEnergies is now positioning itself on this energy offer of tomorrow and diversifying its energy mix to this end, by reducing the share of its petroleum products and by increasing natural gas, transition energy, and renewable electricity.
The energy transition is partly based on the electrification of energy uses, which requires a massive increase in green electrons. TotalEnergies is deployed across the entire renewable electricity chain (production, storage, trading, sales) with the aim of being among the top 5 global producers of solar and wind electricity by 2030.
